Happy New Year from Your Employee Resource Advocate

The New Year is a great time to think about your goals for 2020!

What changes would you like to see in your new year? What goals can you use to improve your life? Your goal may be to lead a healthier life, save more money, spend more time with loved ones or take more time for yourself. Goals and resolutions can be as big or as small as you would like.

One goal I might suggest this year is a simple one with many- many benefits: Be nice to someone once a day.

Research has shown that doing something nice for someone else can have a positive impact on your mental and physical health. A good deed each day can also improve your work life, home life and relationships. When everyone helps each other, everyone’s day becomes that much better.

Sometimes setting good goals can be difficult. Luckily, there are tools to help set more impactful goals. One tool that can help you set better goals is called S.M.A.R.T. Goals. “S.M.A.R.T.” is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time bound. When thinking about a new goal, ask yourself: Is this goal Specific? Is this goal measurable? Is your goal attainable and possible to achieve? Is your goal realistic? And finally, is your goal time bound? Using this tool will help you achieve more of the goals you set and make your goals more effective.

What do you want to accomplish this year?

If you would like to talk about your goals or how to achieve them, come talk to your Employee Resource Advocate. Together, let’s make 2020 a fantastic year for Job One and our outstanding staff!
