New Year, New Partnerships, New Opportunities

Happy New Year from all of us at Job One! We had a fantastic (and busy!) 2017 –and none of Job One’s accomplishments would have been possible without your support. So, thank you! Some of my personal favorite achievements Job One made last year include: kickstarting a successful summer internship program for high school students with disabilities, attending SourceAmerica’s annual advocacy conference in D.C., expanding our Employment Services and rebranding our name, logo and tagline.

And we have more exciting changes coming in 2018 –– including two new partnerships with local organizations: Blue Valley Industries and the Center for Developmental Disabilities.

Blue Valley Industries is helping us tremendously by outsourcing some of their contract packaging work back to our Job One Packaging and Assembly Team. They’re also providing a workspace at their Downtown Kansas City location for Job One Careers staff members. Now, Blue Valley Industries can offer our services to their workers seeking community employment. In turn, Job One has a physical presence in downtown Kansas City and can serve more people in that area.

The Center for Developmental Disabilities has contracted with Job One on custodial services to clean their building every weekday. We are also leasing a small office space at their headquarters for our Careers Staff to help serve their residents with disabilities. This space will also give Job One another location to serve adults with disabilities who live or want to work in a more convenient area of greater Kansas City.

These two partnerships will help give adults with disabilities more options when they are looking for convenient, safe, steady work. It will also allow Job One to play a more active role in the greater Kansas City community as it becomes a more inclusive work environment.

And this is just the beginning. Stay up-to-date with all the developments happening at Job One in 2018 by signing up for our newsletter today!
