Job One welcomed Gary Abram to the Board of Directors in July 2018. Gary was drawn to the mission of Job One with a firm belief that “honest work is noble” and that a job can bring purpose and deeper meaning to individual lives. He was struck by the impact Job One is making for people in our community by providing employment opportunities and ensuring job choice for individuals with disabilities. In just 18 months on the board, Gary has made a huge impact himself. Together, with his fellow board members and the Job One leadership team, Gary has championed new initiatives to ignite growth and ensure the long-term stability of the organization. These efforts include development of a new comprehensive strategic plan, business development and fund development programs, and board expansion strategies.
As a successful executive, entrepreneur, and author, Gary Abram is no stranger to hard work. He has founded several profitable enterprises serving insurance, healthcare, nonprofit, higher education and data analytics segments. Gary is currently the founder of CPM (manages health insurance for schools); founder of BIIG Data (they’ve created an app that healthcare organizations use to retain their employees; and founder of HCap (consults with companies on initiatives to improve talent, process and culture). He is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri and has served on multiple boards, including St. Mary’s Medical Center, UCM Alumni Foundation and Friends of Legal Aid of Western Missouri. Gary has made Eastern Jackson County his home since 1978 and he has two children and two grandchildren.
We greatly appreciate Gary’s service on the Job One Board of Directors and are excited for the positive changes underway that will allow us to better serve individuals with disabilities in our community.
