Job One Training: Teamwork

What is Teamwork?

To understand teamwork, we first need to understand what a team is. A team is just a group of people who are working together to achieve a goal. Everyone on a team must play their part to make the team successful. When everyone on the team works together, that is when you have teamwork!

Where is Teamwork Used?

Teamwork happens when teams come together and help one another achieve their common goal. Teamwork is needed to win a sports game, to build roads, or to support a family. Every person on the team is important to meeting the goal. Every person on the team has a very important role to play.  If one person fails to contribute, the team becomes weaker.

Why is Teamwork Important for Work?

Teamwork is very important at the workplace as well. Everyone who works with you has common goals. Some goals you and your coworkers might share may be:

  • The overall success of the company
  • To keep your position or be promoted
  • To have a positive work environment
  • To feel happy and safe at work
  • To be great at your job

These goals can ONLY be accomplished with the help of the WHOLE team. If one team member is being disrespectful or acting dangerously, this stops the WHOLE team from achieving their goals. But when the team works together, and everyone plays their part, the whole team wins. For more fun, give TEAMWORK BINGO a whirl!
