Connect Level
Make a positive impact through simple, yet meaningful contributions that help Job One participants gain exposure to new environments, learn valuable skills, and develop greater independence through community-based experiences.
Ways to Connect:
-
- Donate Supplies: Provide supplies needed for activities (art materials, office supplies, educational resources). Check out Job One’s Amazon Wishlist for items on our needs list.
- Donate Tickets/Admissions: Donate event or attraction tickets (museums, sporting events, cultural performances) for Job One participants.
- Extend Community Invitations: Invite a small group (as few as one or two) Job One participants to attend a community organization meeting or event (e.g., Rotary, Chamber of Commerce luncheons or special ceremonies).
- Program Underwriting: Sponsor the expenses for specific program outings, helping participants experience new settings and broaden their horizons.
Engage Level
Interact more directly with Job One participants, sharing knowledge, offering insights, and sparking curiosity to help Job One participants explore a range of interests, discover potential career paths, and build self-confidence by interacting with professionals in real-world settings.
Ways to Engage:
-
- Q&A Sessions: Host a 20-minute Q&A session with a small group of Job One participants, where you answer 4-5 questions about your area of expertise. This can be your profession or an outside hobby you’re passionate about. You can do this on-site at Job One or we can come to you!
- Skills/Training Presentations: Provide a short presentation focused on specific skills or topics related to personal development, career paths, or job readiness. What may seem basic in your world, can be an eye-opener for someone seeking new opportunities to build skills.
- Facility Tours: Give a short tour of your office, worksite, or facility, allowing Job One participants to gain insights into various work environments and career possibilities. We aim to help Job One participants see a dynamic variety of environments – cubicles to construction sites and more!
Belong Level
Build a rewarding ongoing relationship with Job One by providing regular volunteer support and mentorship to foster lasting connections with Job One participants with disabilities, enabling them to develop and grow through regular interactions, skill-building, and community involvement.
Ways to Help Those we Serve Know they Belong:
-
- Quarterly Engagements: Commit to quarterly Engage Level activities (Q&A sessions, skills presentations, or facility tours) to give Job One participants consistent exposure to new experiences.
- Quarterly Support at Connect Level: Provide ongoing Connect Level support, such as sponsoring outings or donating event tickets, each quarter.
